About the event
Have you ever struggled to set up your telescope, find celestial objects, or achieve a crisp, clear focus? You're not alone! Many astronomy enthusiasts face these challenges—but this hands-on workshop is here to help.
Join us for an immersive session where you'll master the essential skills to confidently navigate the night sky. We'll break down how your telescope’s aperture, focal length, magnification, and field of view work together to create stunning images. You'll learn how to properly set up and align your telescope, use a finderscope and sky maps to locate targets. We'll describe the benefits and use of various types of mounts (including GoTo), and you'll explore eyepiece selection and focusing techniques.
Bring your own assembled and mounted telescope, along with any power sources, user manuals, or tools that came with it. Space is limited for this interactive, hands-on experience, so be sure to register in advance at www.mmastrosociety.org.
